A career diplomat turned politician who served as Japan's Prime Minister across five terms (45th, 48th-51st) totaling roughly seven years, shaping postwar Japan's diplomacy through the San Francisco Peace Treaty and the US-Japan Security Treaty. He spent his later years based at his Oiso residence.
