Sendai Tanabata FestivalSendai Tanabata Matsuri

Also known as: 仙台七夕まつり・仙台七夕

Held every year from August 6 to 8, it is one of the Three Great Festivals of Tohoku alongside the Aomori Nebuta and the Akita Kanto. It is famed for its lavish bamboo decorations from which streamers of Japanese paper are hung.
