Katsuren Castle SiteKatsuren-jo Ato

Also known as: 勝連城跡・勝連城・Katsuren Castle

The ruins of a castle built in terraces on a hill jutting toward the sea. It was the residence of Amawari, the aji said to have defied the court, and commands a view of Nakagusuku Bay; it is one of the component gusuku of the World Heritage site.
