Takeda Shōkurōtakeda-shokuro

Also known as: 竹田庄九郎・founder of Arimatsu Shibori

The historical figure credited with founding the Arimatsu shibori tie-dyeing tradition in the early Edo period. He reportedly began selling shibori-dyed towels as souvenirs to travellers along the Tokaido highway at Arimatsu, establishing the craft as a commercial industry.
