Nagoya-bennagoya-ben

Also known as: 名古屋弁・Nagoya dialect・Nagoya language

The dialect spoken in Nagoya and much of the surrounding Tokai region, characterised by distinctive sentence-final particles such as gaya and dagaya, a particular set of vowel qualities, and vocabulary that diverges sharply from standard Japanese — for instance using eraii to mean 'tired' rather than 'admirable.'
