Chikaramachichikaramachi

Also known as: 主税町・Chikara-machi

A neighborhood in Higashi Ward, Nagoya, whose name traces back to the residences of Owari domain samurai. It forms part of a preserved historic streetscape together with the adjacent Shirakabe and Shūkimachi districts, where old mud-plastered walls and merchant townhouses survive.
