To-jiTo-ji

Also known as: Kyoo-gokoku-ji・東寺・教王護国寺

Formally Kyoo-gokoku-ji, the principal training temple of Shingon esoteric Buddhism associated with Kukai. Its roughly 55-meter five-story pagoda is the tallest wooden pagoda standing in Japan, and it is a World Heritage component site.
