Kaga TobiKaga Tobi
Also known as: Kaga Tobi Firefighters
A daimyo firefighting brigade organized to protect the Kaga Domain's residence in Edo, formally established in 1718 on the order of the 8th shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune. After the Meiji Restoration, 38 former domain firefighters relocated to Kanazawa when the Edo residence was dissolved, blending Edo-trained technique with local practice into the ladder-top acrobatics still performed today.
