A small herring-family fish about 10 centimeters long. Its name comes from local dialect words for band (kibi) and small fish (nago), referring to the stripe along its body, and it is traditionally hand-filleted and arranged into a chrysanthemum-shaped sashimi platter, eaten with vinegared miso.
