Ichibata Railway

Ichibata Railway is a private line connecting Izumo City with the Matsue area, nicknamed 'Bataden' by locals. It opened in 1914 to carry pilgrims to Ichibata-ji (Ichibata Yakushi), which is also where both the company and the line take their name, and its cars run along the shore of Lake Shinji.
