A Class A river of the Agano River system that flows through central Aizuwakamatsu, known locally by the nickname Okawa. It changes its official name to the Agano River once it crosses into Niigata Prefecture, and the Okawa Dam upstream sits across the border between Aizuwakamatsu and the town of Shimogo.
