大津島 (Ozushima)

Also known as: 大津島・Ozushima・Otsushima

An island in the Seto Inland Sea about 10 km south-west of Tokuyama-Kudamatsu Port in Shunan. It is read Ozushima, with 津 voiced. It was the site of a training base for the human torpedo Kaiten during the war, and the base ruins and the Kaiten Memorial Museum remain. It is also known for fine granite.
