Hamaori Festival
Held every Marine Day (a July national holiday), this festival brings roughly 40 portable shrines from Chigasaki and neighboring Samukawa to Chigasaki's Nishihama Beach, carried to the chant of "dokkoi, dokkoi." It was designated a Kanagawa Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Property in 1978.
