A festival of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, which enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, ranked among Japan's three great festivals with Kyoto's Gion Matsuri and Tokyo's Kanda Matsuri. Its highlights are the boat procession on the Okawa and the dedicatory fireworks.
