Also known as: Rengeo-in・蓮華王院・三十三間堂

A Tendai Buddhist hall in Higashiyama Ward, formally the main hall of Rengeo-in. It is famous for the rows of life-size Thousand-Armed Kannon statues flanking a seated principal image inside its long north-south hall; the central image was made in 1254. It is a National Treasure but not a World Heritage component.
