Kōjindani Site

Also known as: Kojindani Ruins・Kojindani Historic Park

Kōjindani Site, in Izumo's Hikawa district, is a Yayoi-period archaeological site excavated in 1984 and 1985, yielding 358 bronze swords, 16 bronze spearheads, and 6 bronze bells. The 358 swords represent the largest single cache of bronze swords found in Japan, and every item unearthed is designated a National Treasure, now displayed at the Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo.
