Yakuin DistrictYakuin

Also known as: 薬院

A district in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, read 'yakuin.' The name derives from a historical medicinal herb garden or pharmacological dispensary facility said to have been located here. Yakuin Station is a key transfer point between the Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line and the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line. Today the area is a popular dining and residential neighborhood close to Tenjin.
