Kashii DistrictKashii

Also known as: 香椎

A district in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, read 'kashii' — a pronunciation not easily guessable from the kanji. The area developed as the approach-town to the historic Kashii-gu shrine. It is one of the rare locations in Fukuoka where both JR and Nishitetsu operate stations with the same name side by side.
